Former US President Donald Trump has once again expressed disappointment that he cannot run for a third term as President of the United States. Speaking to reporters, Trump said the US Constitution clearly prevents him from contesting a third presidential election, and he described this restriction as “the worst thing” about American law.

Trump Says the Law Is ‘Very Clear’
During his interaction with the media, Trump explained that the Constitution leaves no room for doubt regarding term limits.
“If you read the law, it is very clear. I am not allowed to run for a third time. It’s a very bad thing,” Trump said.
His remarks came earlier on Tuesday when he was asked whether he would consider running for Vice President in the 2028 US election. Trump responded that while he is legally allowed to contest for the vice-presidential position, he has no interest in doing so. According to him, even if he chose to run, people would not like the idea.
Visit to South Korea and High-Level Meetings
Donald Trump arrived in South Korea on Tuesday as part of an official visit. During his trip, he met South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who honored Trump with the country’s highest civilian award, the Grand Order of Mugunghwa.
Along with the prestigious title, President Myung presented Trump with a golden crown, a symbolic gift reserved for leaders who have made notable contributions to South Korea’s diplomatic interests.
Trump’s Remarks on Indian PM Narendra Modi
At a banquet held for business leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, Trump made several striking comments.
He described India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in glowing terms, calling him “the most beautiful person I have ever seen.”
Trump added,
“Prime Minister Modi is a remarkable man. But he is also a killer — extremely tough.”
While his choice of words raised eyebrows, Trump used “killer” in his common manner of describing people he considers strong, determined, and uncompromising in leadership.
Praise for Pakistan’s Leadership
Trump didn’t stop at praising India’s leadership. He also spoke highly of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acknowledging his diplomatic approach.
Additionally, he called Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir a “powerful fighter,” crediting him as a strong figure in regional security dynamics.
These remarks highlight Trump’s longstanding interest in South Asian geopolitics, even after leaving office.
Claims of Ending India-Pakistan Conflict
Revisiting a familiar claim, Donald Trump said once again that he played a key role in easing tensions between India and Pakistan earlier this year.
The former President has previously stated that his behind-the-scenes influence helped prevent escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Although no specific details were given this time, Trump emphasized that his diplomatic intervention was instrumental in calming the situation.
A Persistent Desire for Power
Even though the US Constitution prohibits a third presidential term, Trump’s comments make it clear that he still carries a strong desire to return to the White House. His public regret also shows how central political leadership remains to his identity and public persona.
With the 2028 election cycle slowly moving into national conversation, Trump’s statements will continue to draw attention-both in the United States and overseas.
